| It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. |

The reason I believe this plan will actually work is that we invite ALL volunteers of all peaceful persuasions to join in our pursuit of convincing Congress to do what’s right for the country first and uphold and defend the constitution for which they swore on oath to do. If we only had 2 or 300 volunteers in each state, all focus on one goal, we could move mountains. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND YOU.
EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THE MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT DEBACLE.
545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese
Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don’t have Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The house of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine supreme court justices, 545 human beings out of 300 million, are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally charted, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interest and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.
The politician has the power to accept of reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault.
They cooperate in this common con regardless of the party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.
No normal human being would have the gall of the speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He can not force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the Speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted- by present facts- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exist is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marine’s are in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy”, “inflation”, or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.
They and they alone, have the power.
They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provide the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

“Government is not the solution; government is the problem.” – Ronald Reagan
We now see first hand the enormous harm elected anti-American socialists can inflict upon our nation in a relatively short period of time. The damage from socialists is obvious in negative GDP, a weakened national defense, lost jobs, government control of industry, restrictions to energy resources, plunder from illegal aliens, taxpayer supported abortion, theft of taxpayer money to support bailout and stimulus legislation, the proposed destruction of our health care system, the government created the housing crisis, trillions of lost wealth from the stock market, government expansion, debt imposed upon future generations, the fraud of global warming, the loss of individual freedom, etc.
These enemies of our nation are socialists because they seek to control the economy and enslave the citizens through violations of the Constitution. And, these enemies of our nation are anti-American because they do not govern in the interest of the American citizens.
We cannot look for leadership from our major political parties because they have promoted this evil plague of socialism upon our nation. Instead, we must rely on the leadership of patriotic citizens. The only issue before us is how to remove these socialists from office before they destroy our Constitutional Republic forever? The answer may lie in a coordinated offensive (Tea Parties?) of millions of citizens to demand our First Amendment right to redress (relief from oppression) of grievances.

PITCHFORK AND TORCH SOCIETY™
Who Are We: We are the American people. We are freedom loving Republicans, Democrats and Independents. We are Black, White, Hispanic, and all people of all peaceful faiths and creeds. We believe in law and order. We believe in the U.S. Constitution and above all, we all believe in freedom.
Mission Statement: Having watched our freedoms being eroded away one step at a time over the last 70 years, we have come to the conclusion that if we the people don’t act, and act now, it will be too late and we will never be able to regain the freedoms we have lost, or become the great free society we once were. We will take our freedoms back the same way we lost them, one step at a time.
We will do this by the following actions:
1. We will let Washington know who we are and how many we are and that we have had enough. We will bombard Washington with letters, emails and phone calls letting them know what we expect of them. Most of all we will peacefully rally in Washington with our PITCHFORKS AND TORCHES* to let them know what we expect of them and that we are willing to do something about it. We won’t just rally and go away we will rally and rally time after time to let them know we mean business and we won’t go away.
Organization
Our goal is to have a national office, [not in Washington D.C.] and state chapters in every state, as well as sub-chapters under the state chapters. Anyone interested in organizing a state or local chapter or supporting our cause contact us at: info@pitchforkandtorch.com
If you believe in our mission statement all are welcomed. We are in the process of trade marking our name, logos, etc.
We plan to seek Non-Profit status as a 501C3 Educational Organization.
Questions or Comments please contact us at: info@pitchforkandtorch.com
*These pitchforks and torches will be safe and symbolic such as buttons, pins, hats, t-shirts. Etc.
If you look at the whole picture today it seems impossible to get anything done. Remember: One step at a time. We have laid out 6 items for Congress to act upon, within would correct a multitude of problems. We have picked 6 items and as one item gets acted upon we will add another. These will be screened to get the most out of each item. Remember this is a life long struggle, Freedom isn’t free we must be forever vigilant.
The issues in no particular order. We will deal with all of them.
Tort Reform: Loser pays: The United Kingdom has this system and they don’t have the problems we do.
The benefits of Tort Reform: health care would benefit the most. Lower drug cost, lower hospital cost. Doctors would be able to lower their fees. Insurance companies could lower rates for health insurance. It would help if caps were put on pain and suffering. Actual damages are OK...........
Benefit: Manufacturing could benefit with lower health cost. Manufacturing could sell products at a lower cost if their product liability insurance cost would go down. This would slow down outsourcing our manufacturing jobs. Also, raw materials would be cheaper if law suits were curbed, making all things made in the USA less expensive. Transportation cost would go down. Air fare could go down..........
There is no end to the benefits of tort reform, use your imagination.
Drill Here – Drill Now.......goes without saying.
Seal the borders.........goes without saying.
School choice: Benefit – This alone would do more for raising the standard of living in this great land, more than anything you could do. 87% of inner city parents are in favor of school choice. Long term, this would do more to lower welfare cost and the cost of the prison systems at $40,000 per head. Let alone the crime cost........... There is no end to benefits of better schools and an educated society.
Earmarks: These earmarks are the way that our lawmakers buy votes from other lawmakers, to vote for bridges to nowhere and pork projects - and they all do it. There were 6,000 earmarks on the transportation bill. THIS MUST STOP! There were literally hundreds of thousands of earmarks under this Congress
Flat tax: Everyone would pay the same rate, thus lowering everyones rates and spur more economic activity than history has ever seen. The dollar would soar, and oil would go down................
There is no end to the benefits of flat tax. The present tax code has over 66,000 pages. Mostly goboldyglup for Lawyers and Accountants to argue over at your expense. What the national office will do:
National Office
We are basically a clearing house. We will act as communications center, research center, information center and command center.
We will keep track of all important bills that come before the House and Senate.
We will keep our volunteers informed on what’s going on. We will, from time to time call for and coordinate certain actions or activities that are going on. We may call for certain activities we will coordinate these actions also. Please note you are not required to do anything that we call for, it’s your choice. Should you disagree with us, don’t do anything or act against us if you see fit.
To solve a problem you must first break it down to its simplest form.
We don’t have to be a majority, just a persistent voice that will enable us to become a constituency with enough clout, to make things happen.
Problem: Congress is out of control. They are more interested in getting re-elected and making money than doing the business of the country. They get re-elected by giving away the farm to every organization and special interest group that comes along. We the people try to stop this by trying to defeat them at election time, but nothing changes regardless of party. They have divided us and conquered us. Party politics only helps the elected officials not the country.
The Answer: We the people of all parties and persuasions must band together and pressure Congress to make decisions on the basis of right and wrong for the country. The rule book for this is: THE CONSTITUTION.
The plan
The plan is simple – Not easy – just simple.
Imagine: If we could get 1000 people in each state. Fifty states, that’s 50,000 activist, writing letters, sending faxes, sending e-mails and making phone calls.
Imagine: 8 or 10 thousand of our volunteers converging on Washington for 3 or 4 days, going into the House and Senate offices to visit our representatives and senators.
Imagine: If we had a Dan’s bake sale like the one Dan had in Ft. Collins CO many years ago. Thousands and thousands of people came from all over America. They flew private planes in and chartered planes and busses. They had a good time and left.
Imagine: Thousands of us just going to Washington to visit the sites and take tours and visit our reps. We could charter busses, or better yet just drive in and create the biggest traffic jam ever. We would soon be noticed. And as our volunteership grew, our power would grow.
What you can do:
You can recruit some volunteers. You can do this by talking to friends and neighbors. Have them tell friends etc. Set up a meeting, in your home, your church, your club or a meeting room in a hotel. Set the date and spread the word. Ideally, you could put a small ad in your local newspaper or shoppers guide. This should lead you to starting a local of state chapter in your area.
Read the Constitution. Notice how small, short and simple it is. Yet it is the entire rule book for running our great country. It doesn’t look much like the government we have today, does it?
Study the mission statement of Pitchfork and Torch society. It is important that you understand we are not political, and why.
The first meeting we had, we had 35 people show up. The only thing they had in common was that they were all fed up with Washington. Most seemed to be fairly conservative, some seemed liberal, but they all had different ideas about how to make a difference. They talked about a 3rd party, and everything that was wrong with our government. Every group you put together will be exactly the same. That is why they can’t get anything changed.
The dirty little secret is the politicians have divided and conquered us. It really doesn’t make any difference to them who gets elected, Republicans or Democrats or Independents. The political leadership simply rolls on and on, feathering their own nests, and screwing up the country. The only time congress listens is when the people stand up and make it clear, WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH! Remember, they have been chipping away at our freedoms for 70 plus years, one step at a time. And we will take them back the same way, one step at a time.
Our Founder
The founder of Pitchfork and Torch society Robert Van Vleet, is an inventor with many patents and trademarks to his name. To be an inventor you must first recognize a problem. Then you must figure out a way to solve the problem. The best way to do this is to think outside the box. The best solutions are the simplest solutions. Most problems, if you look at them objectively are fairly simple.
Also, Van Vleet has been somewhat of a political activist. He was born and raised a Democrat, switched to Independent, then Republican. After doing this for over 50 years, he finally came to the conclusion nothing had really changed over the past 70 years, as things got progressively worse.
The question is, how did things get this way? The answer is simple. Politicians and bureaucrats have divided us into two parties and conquered us. We are basically helpless to change things. The answer is simple. We the people are in charge – government is only granted the power to do what we the people allow them to do. Read the 10th amendment on page 23 in your copy of the constitution. After years of thought and planning, Mr. Van Vleet came up with this plan and named it the Pitchfork and Torch Society, the international symbol of an oppressed people rising, as in the French revolution. We are in the process of trade marking the name and our crossed pitchfork and torch pins.
